Launch
Some of the biggest errors and delays in hardware engineering happen when one engineer makes a change but doesn’t properly document or communicate it to other engineers who need to understand that change to build on top of it.
We’re building Flashwise to solve this.
Flashwise is a copilot for hardware engineers that documents changes and syncs knowledge across teams.
It works invisibly across the tools your engineers already use, including KiCad, Altium, NX, SolidWorks, and Fusion 360, while connecting with Confluence documents, specs, and engineering files shared over email.
Engineers can ask Flash questions like:
- Why was this component changed?
- Why did we deviate from the original spec here?
- Catch me up on the changes I need to know about
- What is the status of this bottleneck component, and who is working on it?
Flashwise also turns that context into action.
Through the Slack MCP, you can ask Flash to message the mechanical team:
Flash → #mechanical“I’m about to change the CAD design of this component, so you may want to hold off on drilling the hole.”
You can also set up Slack workflows, from daily summaries of changes across teams to automatically notifying the test team whenever a CAD design is updated, what changed and which new tests they should run.
The goal is simple: engineers building the future of aerospace, robotics, and defense tech should be able to focus on the exciting work of building, not manually documenting changes, running across the floor to tell other engineers what they need to know, or resolving problems someone else already solved but never documented.
If you’re a hardware founder interested in trying Flashwise with your team, or an engineer who wants to play around with it and give feedback, I’d love to hear from you.
